i just got back to seattle from a really short trip to oklahoma. i got to spend it with my favorite people. it was splendid, and was a great reminder of how great it feels to be surrounded by people you love and who love you back. i really like seattle, but it is still missing that feeling. you know what i mean? maybe its because its missing a little bit of myself that is still in oklahoma. maybe its not seattle that is lacking... hmm, i just don't know.
i am excited for friends visiting this next month. thetransfig is coming in just a few days. and then the sappy's and then my sister. and then i get to go see the polyphonic spree and architecture in helsinki. october may be the best month here yet!
and if all goes well i should be able to go visit katelikeplate next month, lets all keep our fingers crossed...

life is good

well, i have been in seattle for 20 days now. i like it. i think you would too if you moved up here, and i think you should. matt lactose and i decided that we would have the absolute perfect life if all of our loved ones moved up here too. or even if just 3 more did. seattle is wonderful. and so are you. here are some of the things i get to see on a daily basis:

so this is my attempt at temptation. don't you want to move here too? of course you do. you can even stay at my house for awhile until you get your feet on the ground.
so thats my life. i started 2 new jobs. i work at a coffee shop and i work at a tea shop. they go nicely together. stop by some time, and i can make you some coffee and a crepe.
ok, thats all.
peace in the middle east.

Well, I am in Seattle for good now. Its been a long journey, but I am home now. Let me tell you about my travels.
Jonathan and I hit the road around 430am on Tuesday morning. We were Grand Canyon bound. We arrived around 600pm that night. And this is what we saw...

Then, the next morning we set out for San Francisico. We got there around 800 that night, about an hour before the Independance Day fireworks show over the Golden Gate Bridge. Unfortunately due to intense traffic conditions it took us 2 hours to go three miles, and we enjoyed the show from the car. The next night, Jonathan suprised me with Band of Horses tickets so we got to see those fine fellas.

Then We left and headed aout for Seattle. We drove over the Golden Gate, but due to intense fog conditions we barely saw it.

The drive was only supposd to take about 12 hours, but took us 15 and 1/2. This is because we got lost for an hour, and then my car had a mid-trip crisis and had to rest for another hour or so. The upside was that we got to visit the historical mining town of Demuir. Although it seemed like a charming place, we only visited the NAPA auto-parts store.

After that behind us we finaly made it to Seattle about 230am friday night/saturday morning. Saturday was a beautiful clear day, and we could see Mt. Ranier perfectly.

We went to IKEA and I spent too much money. I got to see Rachael, and that was wonderful. That night we went to bed thinking life was just as it should be. This morning we got up to go visit a coffee shop to use the internet, and I got to my car, and this is what we found...

Thats right. My windshield was smashed in by some huge jerk with an even bigger rock. So today has been filled with police reports and insuramce quotes. But don't you go and worry about me. I will survive. I am not that easily broken. Welcome to Seattle.
